An Odd Man’s Odyssey: March 2026
The Worlds Eyes See
Dear reader, have I really not told you this yet?
I’m really close to one whole year of being a published author, and during that time, I’ve discussed my books with family, writers, and readers like you. In those discussions, I found that I have a somewhat unique aspect that is a foundation for my writing adventure.
That is, my stories are only partially mine.
That is not me saying I plagiarize or anything, or that I use AI. (No, no, and NO to both of those.)
What I mean is that when I write a story, I don’t look at a page, like some authors do, and drive the story from the words I put on the page. For lack of a better word, I’m in the stories. A fly on the wall, if you will. I see it all happen and hear everyword said. I was there for each and every moment.
When I write my books, what I am doing is telling you what I saw in those stories. So, in that way, I’m not sure it feels right to fully call them mine. I was just there to see it after all, not even as a character. The stories just happen, and God has just gifted me the opportunity to be a witness.
That doesn’t mean that the story never changes with drafts or edits. Though it’s hard to explain, the best I can do is this analogy: Have you ever listened to a song, and it evokes a kind of image? Then years later, you go back to the same song, and you see the same image, but it looks a little different and maybe a little clearer. Drafting and editing are kind of like that.

Of course, I’m not the only person who lives in these worlds, but when I realized I never wrote to you about this, I felt I needed to say something to you.
I know this probably won’t help any aspiring writers and may even confuse you. If it does, feel free to drop it. Call me Odd and move on.
Maybe my path for writing isn’t one you can follow. That’s fine, there are many paths and many adventures for writing. Just do your best to learn from my adventure and find your own path. There is also the chance you share my oddity, and everything I’ve said made perfect sense. If that’s the case, enjoy the worlds God’s given you! I think little else needs to be said to that point.
For all of you my dear readers, I hope you understand me and my writing a little better for this post. If you will, please share these stories I write with whoever you can as I don’t want these places I’ve seen to die with me. God made them for you as much as they have ever been for me.
I am just the storyteller.
Seeing new places,
C.R. Ware
